Sisters on Sunday

Also to forever be remembered as the day Aubrey stayed in the nursery the whole time and didn't shed a tear!  Thank you, Lord!

Random Stuff and Mad Picture-Taking Skillz

The girls have this matching outfit.  Normal people would try to get a picture of them together.  I ended up with this stellar shot.

Just imagine Aubrey in the same outfit, both girls smiling, maybe hugging, in front of a festive background.

Aubrey's been in the exersaucer.  Her feet still dont touch the bottom and I have to prop her up pretty good, but she has loved trying to get all those things in her mouth, pawing at everything, and making noise.

I'm nervous because I've entered the world of class field trips and birthday parties.  I have a little social anxiety.  I'm guessing that 98% of the other parents (of the kids in Langley's class) grew up together and have lived here their entire lives.  I don't know anyone, I can't remember names, and clearly I'm "not from around here."  So, I have to suck it up, try not to be totally akward, and go so my kid can have fun and be the little social butterfly that she is.

Langley has developed an intense irrational fear of squirrels and cats.  I have no idea how it started, and to be honest, I don't have a lot of sympathy for irrational fears.  I should, because I am deathly afraid of snakes...don't want to see them anywhere at anytime in person, on tv, or in a book, etc.  Since she can't really explain why she's scared, I just tell her there's nothing to be scared of and try to change the subject.

Aubrey loves to hit me in the face and pull my hair.  She also loves when Langley reads to her or otherwise provides entertainment.

The girls watch Disney Jr together every single morning.  That's only after Langley wakes up about 530, plays house in her room for an hour and a half, then yell's "good morning, I wake!"  Yes, she is still waking up at the crack of dawn, but we put up the baby gate and she will turn on her light and play house.

My girls have such a good daddy!

That is all.

All I Can Do Is Pray

I have been so sad.

"How do you even face this?"  I asked my husband this question Sunday morning.  I woke up and scanned facebook early Sunday morning.  I noticed a few messages to Julee, a girl I grew up with, that got me very worried.  Finally about an hour later, after frantically searching facebook and news websites, my friend texted and confirmed the shocking and devastating news I was beginning to suspect.

Matt Turner died in a car accident Saturday night.  He was 32 years old.  He and Julee have a 10 month old miracle baby.  I grew up with Matt and Julee but I probably haven't seen or talked to either one of them in person since I graduated from college 8 years ago.  We were never best friends or anything like that, but I have very dear memories with them both from cheerleading and some local TV stuff and just growing up in a small town together.

I am so sad for Julee.  I am so sad for Lisa.

"How do you even face this?"  I have been in constant prayer for Julee, Lisa, Andy, Preslee, and all the Bell's, Wingfields, and the host of other family and friends that are suffering.  I have prayed and cried, not asking why - we will never know this side of heaven- but just asking God for their comfort, their healing, and a peace that surpasses all understanding to surround them all.

And then I hug my husband and my babies and thank the Lord for every minute I've had with them and all my other family and friends.  I can't do or say anything to make this situation easier for Matt's family and close friends, but I've asked the Lord just to prompt me when any of them need extra prayers. To wake me up in the middle of the night if they need to be lifted up in prayer, to put them on my heart any time.  All I can do is pray.

God is so good.  The world is not.  I've already seen the Lord glorified through this hard situation.  Just watching the news stories, seeing all the social media outpouring, and reading Julee's words show what an awesome, loving heavenly Father we have.

Join me in covering this family in prayer today and in the weeks and months to come.

I read this verse yesterday: "He (the Lord) is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."  Colossians 1:17

What My Phone Saw This Week

I realized a little while ago that it's October, my least favorite month. However, this week has been pretty good, so I can't complain about October yet!

Here's a little phone dump:

Just playing.

This little racoon greeted me Monday morning as I loaded the girls up to get Langley to school.  Josh tried to first catch it in a dog kennel and then kill it with a shovel.  Both failed.  Both were hilarious.

God will take my breath away with things like this every once in awhile.  I don't like living here a lot of the time, but I've seen many beautiful scenes in the sky like this over the past year that are so comforting. I pulled over as I was going to WM one night when I saw this.

We had a team game night Wednesday.  I tried to be a little more creative and made a menu around the theme "Mayhem,"  Mayhem is kind of the theme for our defense this year.  Anyway, I used glitter.  Glitter is fun.  Game night was a hit, they played taboo and my team won!

She was just so sweet and cuddly this morning.

They were playing before breakfast.

We are enjoying a quiet, cold, weekend together!!

Recently

My baby girl is such a joy.  Sometimes I think I'll die from the cuteness.

Langley has pretty good eating habits, but she is a typical toddler.  Some days she eats next to nothing, but in the picture below she was on her second whole turkey sandwich at lunch.  She was eating like a grown man.

I think Aubrey's expression is the most accurate depiction of what all Razorback fans are feeling this season.

We tried to take a few family pictures, I cropped this one because it was the best of me and Langley while the other two looked crazy :-)

Amber and Andrew came and spent the weekend with us.  We all enjoyed having them here!!

The winner of overall best group shot...

Sometimes I think they look like twins, other times I think they look totally different!
Somehow I have given birth to the two most adorable baby girls on the planet!!  Clearly I am not biased :-)

5 Months Old

My sweet Aubrey is 5 months old!
-  Let's see what she's up to....
-  Can wear clothes ranging from 3-6 to 6-9 months size
-  Wears size 2 diapers
-  Has never worn shoes and only sock a handful of times
-  I'm conviced she has allergies that present symptoms in her eyes.  I thought her ducts were clogged again, but it cleared up after a week or so.  Allergies are killing all of us right now.
- Is a rolling machine, plays on the floor with toys and sits in her seat with her favorite toy quite a bit
- Likes to watch disney jr and listen to music
- Still makes the nursery a miserable experience
- Smiles the biggest smile every single morning and after most naps.
- Eats 5 times a day, alternating 6 oz then 4 oz at the next feeding.
- Still takes prevacid and 1/2 tablespoon of rice cereal in each bottle.
- Loves her bath.
- Still has cradle cap.
- Smiles, talks, and spits bubbles a lot.
- Is happy and easy a majority of her time!

Ooh, I love this baby!
