Too Cold for an Outdoor Activity

So we drove up into Missouri to the Bootheel youth museum. The girls had lots of fun!

Hoping for a Smile

These girls have had a hard time this week.  They've seen their daddy about 24 hours in the last 2 weeks.  3 of the 4 ballgames were away and then Aubrey had the fever virus Saturday so we've really not seen him much at all.

Langley's behavior has really struggled, she cries for her daddy every day.  She gets pretty dramatic every time there's a goodbye.  I've been talking with her about how, even though we are sad daddy has to go, we have to be big girls about it - give him a hug and a kiss, tell him you love him - No melt downs.

It kind of breaks your heart :-)

Aubrey doesn't  realize how much he's been gone , but her attitude always benefits from some 1 on 1 time with him.  Also, she has 5 teeth coming in simultaneously...and she's started throwing tantrums that include pulling her own hair.  She's always been intense.

Anyway, I decided this morning to let her wear a "dress" because it makes Langley so happy.  They are matching because it makes me happy.

No game Saturday, so we are really looking forward to some time together!!

The Word of the Week is .... Overtime

This sums up our week:  We lost two games, both in overtime (1 in double OT;) and Aubrey ran 104 fever.

It's been lovely around here.

These were taken before the fever and during a riveting episode of mickey.

Very Random

After the girls woke up from their Sunday nap Josh and I almost went crazy and we called one of our trusty babysitters for a very last-minute-we-are-desperate for a date.  She was here an hour later.  Our hot date was grocery shopping and a steak from Dons.  Yes, we were in sweats.  It was heavenly.

Yesterday was so weird.  The kind of weird where you wake up, rush to throw on some clothes, and you discover your deodorant has vanished.  I tore the bathroom apart looking for my deodorant - even looked in the trash.  It was gone.  That stuff makes me feel so crazy.

Anyway, it was a crazy morning.  I took Langley to the doctor for "the cough."  There's no infection or signs of wheezing, so it's the "reactive airway" thing.  Allergy meds, nebulizer, and a few days of 'roids.  Bless her.

I also sold some toys on a local online yard sale and Langley freaked when we drove away from meeting the buyer. I didn't even sell her toys.  There are still millions of toys in our house.  I just laughed all the way home.  Sidenote:  I about freaked when the buyer's son GOT IN MY CAR. Thankfully, he was out before I ended up on the news.  Two words:  home training.

And randomly, I got some girl time last night when I met some friends at McD's.  We sat and talked for 2 hours.  Very thankful for that!

That's all.  I'll have some pictures next time :-)_

A Full Week

Yesterday was WBC homecoming, so the whole week was full of activities.  There was senior night for Volleyball Monday, Tuesday was our first basketball game, Wednesday was Harvest festival, Thursday was Halloween, Friday night was a little pep rally, and Saturday was Langley's last soccer game and our homecoming game.

After the first week of basketball we are 2-0!  Both games were high scoring.  Tuesday we scored 111 and Saturday 125 points...I kind of feel like that puts a giant target on our back.  I'm very proud of the team and I think if we keep improving (especially on defense) each game, then it will be a fun year!

Saturday we played CBC for the first time since we left.  I didn't know how that would feel; but I'm glad it's over, I'm glad we got to see some of our favorite Conway people, I'm glad Bean was the only familiar face on the bench, and I'm glad the Eagles won!

We also got to see the grandparents because they came up Saturday.  Goodness, it was a full but fun week!
