It's already over - C'mas 2014

Christmas has come and gone.  Whether we like it or not, the tree and decorations are coming down and real life will resume.

We had a great holiday.  I only have these random pictures from my phone.  I guess I was just soaking it all in.

Oh, and the verses I worked on for 2014:

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.  Psalm 19:14

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory, beacuse of your love and faithfulness.  Psalm 115:1

The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up those who are bowed down.  Psalm 145:14

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped.  Psalm 28:7

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  2 Corinthians 9:6

Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified or discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.  Joshua 1:9

May the Lord direct your heart to God's love and Christ's endurance.  2 Thessalonians 3:5

You were called to be free...but do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature...serve one another in love.  Galatians 5:13

Encourage each other daily, as long as it's called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin's deceptions.  Hebrews 3:13

The Lord is with my like a mighty warrior.  Jeremiah 20:11 a

Be on guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.  Luke 12:15

The Best Gifts

Santa 2014

I took them to the mall by myself to see Santa.  The mall people tried to tell me I couldn't take personal pictures because it's against policy.  The mall camera was broken and they were waiting for another one to get their from Memphis.  Are you kidding me?

So, here are the official santa photos.  Both girls talked to him and were so excited.

We do santa like any other character.  Santa is fun, like Mickey Mouse is fun.  We are not anti-santa.  But, I do tell them he's not real, just a fun character at Christmas. I don't expect anyone to agree or disagree with this choice.  I don't care what other families do and don't care what anyone else thinks of how we do this.  I hate seeing people get so heated on both sides of this stupid "mommy war."  It ruins everything about Christmas! They know Christmas is Jesus' birthday (first and foremost) and enjoy all the Christmas season has to offer both religious and secular and we love it!!

December

Just playing catch up before we celebrate Christmas!

It's been a good month so far!

We had Christmas in the Cove and the girls still say we are the "taco house."  It was fun!!

Took the girls to the WR Christmas Parade.

Langley's dance class performed at a nursing home.  It was precious.  She was awesome.

Josh and the team ended the semester with a 2 game road trip.  Won both of them.  Finished strong.  We are 5-1 in conference, 6-4 overall.  I'm pleased considering we are only 6 players deep.  And, I got my Christmas wish and  we gain several back at semester because everyone is eligible!!

I took the girls to a wedding on campus for one of Josh's FCA leaders.

We saw santa (that's a separate post.)

Josh and I went to Branson BY OURSELVES for 4 days.  It was so needed.  We have never been away from the girls.  Ever.  So thankful for that little trip!!
