Langley's Black Eye, More From Today, and a Poll

Langley has a week.  First she ran fever for a few days.  It got up to 102.4 due to teething, her bottom k9's are coming through.  She also has some major allergies and just did not feel good.   To make everything better, she ran directly into the corner of the table in our entry way on Thursday.  This picture doesn't do it justice - the girl has a major shiner!

Confession:  I tried to put concealer under her eye before pictures.

Now for the Poll:  Time to guess Aubrey's weight, height, and hair color!

Rachel's guess:  8lbs, 9oz; 21 inches, dark hair.
Josh's guess:  8lbs, 12 oz; 21 inches, dark hair.

Leave your guess in the comments!!  I'll compile a list for fun...there is no real prize, just the satisfacton of winning :-)

To help with your guestimations, here's some info:  Langley was 9lbs, 3 oz born at exactly 40 weeks.  I gained 40 pounds during that pregnancy and I lived near lots of yummy fast food and restaraunts.  With Aubrey, I've gained 25 pounds this pregnancy.  She will be born at 39 weeks, 1 day.  I live in the middle of nowhere.

Austin Family of 3

We tried!  Our last picture attempt before Aubrey!  Most of them turned out bad and/or funny!

Too bad about my hair...

And the self-timer attempts...

This was how most of them ended up!

Last One?

I had what I thought was my last appointment today, but I had to schedule a final appointment for Monday morning to determine if I will start the induction process Monday night or Tuesday morning.   I have not progressed any further in the last week, so we'll see!  I hope I progress a little more so I can avoid the night before in the hospital.

I had Josh take this picture as we were rushing out the door for the appointment today.  Langley and I had been at playgroup and I had my snack for the road in my hand :-)

I have gained 24 pounds, but I'm huge!!  Which made it even more hilarious when a woman at the clinic, who was looking at me - asked if I was pregnant.  Geez louise!

Baby Kinsley was born at 12:51 pm today so it worked out perfectly that we got to see her in the nursey and visit her mama!  Jill looked great!  (My) Josh got pumped when we were at the hospital...it's so close!

Friday Fun

We've had a pretty good morning.  I still look forward to Fridays and the weekend, even though in reality it's like any other day as a SAHM.

I set up the tent which provided a good segment of entertainment.

Then, she did some reading.  She was reading Dr. Seuss "The Foot Book."

So, we had to talk about our feet and toes the rest of the morning.  It didn't help her obsession that I got a pedicure last night.

Then, Langley set us up a picnic on my lap and on the couch.

Back to the feet, I decided to paint her toenails for the very first time!  She actually sat still and was so cute.  When they were done she went wild!

And of course, had to show them off to daddy!   This is my favorite picture currently.
Just lovin' life.

Our Tuesday

It is so cute when Langley says her own name "yanyee."

She is very interested in pottying.  I'm not even going there again for a few months.  So yes, she is probably ready, but no, I'm not potty training her right now.  She has asked me to watch "Elmo Goes Potty" all day.  I conned her into a veggie tales instead :-)

We missed play group today bc I wasn't sure if we had it.  Instead I had a productove morning around the house and then we ran a few errands.

Langley got a package in the mail and wanted to wear her new bathing suit immediately.

I decided to treat us to happy meals for lunch.  Oddly, she didn't eat much.  About 1/4 of the burger and 1/2 of that tiny container of fries.  I finished both of ours off...you know, I didn't want to waste.

We had naps and then walked  waddled to the gym to see Josh for a second.

I saved our "treats" for our snack.  She had her chocolate milk and I had my reese's mcflurry!

What an exciting life we lead :-)

37 Weeks! Full Term!! Not Much Longer!

Movement:
She definitely has more active times of the day and some nap times.  At this point when she is really moving and shaking it kind of hurts.  Occasionally gets the hiccups at night.  She has dropped a little so I can breathe most of the time.

Sleep:
I've been sleeping pretty well!  I make myself stay awake until 10 pm and then I can sleep until 5 or 6 am - sometimes longer!  I don't sleep a couple of times a week, no real reason, just can't turn off my mind or get comfortable.

Symptoms:
My blood pressure is still good, no swelling.  I'm either starving or can't eat anything depending on where she is laying.  Nesting like crazy.  It's getting hard to move around and do normal things, I get tired quickly, and can't stay in one position very long.  I'm kind of achy and crampy but no strong braxton hicks contractions.

Cravings:
Nothing consistent.  I've had my obsessions with little debbie fudge brownies, any kind of ice cream or shake, trail mix, sweets of all kinds, mexican.  Currently, I want whatever I don't have to cook :-)

Weight Gain:  23 pounds.

Progress:  I am dialated to 1 cm and "pretty thinned out" according to my doctor yesterday.  Induction has been scheduled for May 1!! All I really have left to do is pack my bag (tomorrow is laundry day!)

Returner's Party

So Tuesday night we had kind of an "end of the year" party for the seniors and invited all of last year's team, even those not returning.  Friday night we hosted all the returner's for a spaghetti supper at our house.  They watched the NAIA National Championship Game (that we had dvr'd) and ate.  I think it was my favorite team party so far...maybe because it was fewer people, or maybe this is the core group that just seems to click the best?

I even remembered to take pictures!

For any of you familiar with WBC, I know that this team looks different that any other you have seen.

Meanwhile, this one was a wild woman -- the zebra print was appropriate!

She was in everyone's personal space.  Not a shy bone in her last night.  Lord, help us!

Aubrey's Room

I really love Aubrey's room.  I didn't get the original bedding or curtains that I had in mind, but I actually like this final result more.  We don't own the house we live in so there was no painting or  changing the floor, but the room is so calm, pretty, and peaceful to me.

I also loved Langley's first room.  The two rooms are so so different, I wonder if they will reflect the girl's personalities in any way.

Here is the view looking in from the hallway.
I ordered that chair off of Amazon and it is the most comfortable thing ever!  There is a closet on the right that you can't see and we have another small dresser and a TV hidden in there.  The window is huge.  I have 4 black out curtains from WM and 2 white sheers covering it.  The wreath on the right was made by Aunt Amber and the shelf on the left is something we already had.  It holds some blocks spelling out her name and picture frame.

Everything new in the room was ordered online.  The bedding is light pink, cream, white, and a goldish color.  It is very girly, which made me nervous at first, but again, I love it!  The prints above the bed came with the bedding set.  I don't have the energy to do anything else on that wall right now.

The changing table is great.  The top comes off and looks just like a normal dresser.  The shelves in the cabinet slide in and out which is convenient.  The bow holder above the changing table was originally another gift from Aunt Amber, but it got really messed up during the process of getting it back home so i had to redo it.  I used fabric from the window valance that came with the bedding.

This dresser area holds the "special" things in the room.  The lamp is just from target, but the frame was another craft project for me.

I already had this frame but I painted it white, then used more fabric from the window valance to create the rosettes.
The beads are from a necklace that belonged to my Mamaw Smith.  Love.

This arrangement that sits on the dresser is a silk bouquet my Aunt Sharon made for me to use in my bridal portraits (over 5 years ago!)   The muted colors go perfectly in the nursery and I love looking at it.  It's still in pretty good shape after all this time.
