Quick Update

After visiting the pediatrician and the ENT, we found out Aubrey does NOT have pneumonia.  Of course that's good news, but also very frustrating.  She's finishing up some antibiotics and steroids and we follow up with the ENT in two weeks.  She's better, but still not 100%.  Langley is better and we are weaning off her breathing treatments.  Now, of course, I'm sick.  Not sure exactly what funk the girls have shared with me, but I've run a little bit of fever and have a few other minor symptoms.

I'm tired and emotional.  Enough already.  Let's get on to enjoying the summer and not spending every dime on medical expenses.

A Haircut and Pneumonia

Since my last post, Aubrey got a haircut.  We also traveled to visit family, and came home for both of my girls to get sick.

Langley started first with her normal stuff that causes all the breathing treatments, steroids, and antibiotics.  That stuff is getting so old.  I was almost in tears at the dr's office and asked her if my child had lung disease.  While we were there they noticed Aubrey had fever.

So, Aubrey has run a low grade fever since Wednesday and started barking Friday.  At 9:45 Friday night she woke up screaming, coughing, and unable to catch her breath.  It was about a 10 minute spell and it scared me to death.  So, at 10:30 we arrive at the ER.  (I had taken some Zquil earlier, so that totally helped the situation - NOT.)

We leave the ER at 2:30 am diagnosed with pneumonia.  She got a rocephin (sp?)  shot, a dose of oral antibiotics, and an albuterol treatment.  She slept until 9:45 this morning and has had a few bites of toast with a whole cup of milk and is now working on a cup of juice.  I'm thankful she's drinking...and she asked for Elmo, so sesame street is on.  She's still barking, but the cough has calmed.  Of course her leg is very sore.

That 's been our week.  I'm very overwhelmed with everyone's medicine schedule and breathing treatments.  I've been very attacked the last few days, I'm in a constant state of doubting and questioning each decision.  Blah.  We would appreciate your prayers!

Preschool Program

Langley's preschool had their graduation program and Langley's class sang some songs.  We couldn't hear her, but she did great!!

I will cry next year when she has on a little cap and gown.

Mother's Day...Real Life

If you are expecting precious pictures of 2 adorable girls sweetly smiling  and lovingly gazing at the camera - you've come to the wrong place.

We were hot, hungry, and Aubrey had busted her lip.  So, yes, these are awesome.  Good memories of Mother's Day 2014 with a 2 and 4 year old!

I think this was our best effort!!

It's been a nice day!  I'm blessed to be their mother!

Just Checking In

Aubrey had her 2 year old check up this week. She's 26 pounds and 2 ft, 10 1/4 inches tall and full of awesome.  I'm very thankful for her health!!

We've had a pretty good week.  I got a morning completely alone when Langley was at school and Josh took Aubrey to run some errands.  It was much needed.  I mean, I did laundry and some other house wifey things, but in silence.  Without interruption.

It's been obnoxiously windy here all week, but we have played outside and gone on a walk.  Aubrey can barely stand up in 25 mile an hour winds.

Langley sang at her preschool's graduation ceremony last night.  She did great!  I'll post some pictures of that later.

It's so exciting and terrifying seeing my children in social situations.  Will they be kind? Are others kind to them? Are they total followers or a bully?  What will they say?  Why are they tattling?  Do they have the skills other kids their age do?  It's fun and scary at the same time.  Being a parent is hard.

Speaking of being a parent, I'm looking forward to mother's day weekend, just spending time with my little loves and NOT cooking on Sunday!

Happy Friday!

WBC Graduation 2014

We had 3 special graduates this year!  Zay and Chase came back to finish their degree after completing their years of basketball eligibility last year.  Makenna has been our workstudy/babysitter/kind of like a little sister.  We are so proud of all of them!!!
