Last Post of 2010

What a blessed year we have had!  Hardships and heartaches yes, but we have been overwhelmed by God's grace!  Here are the last pictures for the year...

Attempt at a self-portrait during the razorback game.

Seriously, is there not money in the multi-million dollar budget to buy this man a longer top?!  Poor guy.

I specifically took pictures while Josh was getting Langley ready for bed, so we would have accurate final pictures of 2010...Josh thought I was a weirdo :-)

Sweet girl.

Um, she does this a lot.  Bites his nose.  He lets her because he thinks it is hilarious.

She will be 10 months old tomorrow.  I. can't. take. it.
Happy New Year!

Post Christmas Wrap-up

I am really trying to right this post without sounding whiny or negative, it seems like everytime I've thought about blogging it has been something of that nature.  But here's the crazy thing -nothing is wrong!

Langley had her first overnight away from home this week.  She went and stayed with my mom one night so that I could run errands and get other things done efficiently.  It is not efficient to run errands when you have to get a baby in and out of the car 4 times in cold weather and wait in lines.  So, she had a good time and I enjoyed my 24 hour break!  Josh and I also went to dinner and a movie that night!

We played asu this week we were on the losing end of a record-setting massacre, unfortunately.  I tried all day yesterday not to get mad at the state paper and the central arkansas news stations.  Let me explain.  Our team and school gets basically no media attention, we are used to it.  But the results of our game where very widely publicized.  It was embarrasing to us, our players.  Think about if you were a parent of a student athlete and the only time they got attention in your local paper or news channel was when something embarrassing happened.  It would be different if they talked about our victories and other positive things, but they don't.  As a result, this mama bear/coach's wife gets defensive, hurt feelings, and pretty pissed off.

I'd also like to point out that if our game had occured on a Razorback game night, there would have been no coverage of our game in jonesboro.

I'm over it now.

So, last night we went to NWA to the Razorback basketball game.  Another date night for Josh and I!  Josh had never been to a hogs basketball game (hundreds of football games, but never basketball,) so my dad got us tickets for Christmas.  Really, it was just a plot to get to  babysit Langley :-) We had a good time and now we are back home.

I plan on being totally unproductive the rest of the day!!

Christmas: Round 4

The Austin's came to Conway last night!  I had such a good time having them all here!  Dinner turned out well, and everyone was just beyond generous!  A great end to my favorite holiday!

Maybe I should use more exclamation points!

Christmas: Round 3

Merry Christmas!

This was our very first family Christmas at our house!  We slept in (relatively speaking,) and Josh and I got up and had biscuits & gravy!  Langley slept until 8:15, we fed her cereal, and while she was having her morning bottle we read the Christmas story from the second chapter of Luke and prayed.  Then, it was time for stockings and presents!  We decided to get Langley a stocking and 3 gifts this year, then Josh and I got each other stocking stuffers and a few gifts -- it was perfect!

Langley was mostly interested in the shoes that she got in her stocking and the inflatable penguin toy that santa brought her.  After we opened everything and cleaned up, it was time for morning nap -- perfect!

I didn't take many pictures, but we got quite a bit of video. So, enjoy our first-thing-in-the- morning looks :-)

We are getting ready for family to be here this evening for round 4!

Christmas: Round 2

Round 2:  Arkadelphia.  First Memaw's, then Nanny's house.  We had a wonderful day!

Christmas: Round 1

We went to Springdale to celebrate Christmas with my Dad and sisters on Tuesday.  It was a great, but fast, visit!  Langley's outfit said "Oh What Fun!"  I think that sums it all up!

A Girl and Her Shoes

Who needs toys, really?  Just buy her some walmart shoes and she's good for a solid 30 minutes.

Festive

A random festive assortment for you today:

I think my child has worn red or other "Christmasy" clothes most days this week.  Here is an example.  I mean, she is just so cute!

Here is our attempt at a self-portrait.  She caught on fairly quickly.  I looked crazy, thank goodness for the cropper!  I could kiss her cheeks all day!

Amber's present is perfect for climbing on.

Cute picture, except for the lovely blue recliner!  I think santa may be shopping some after Christmas sales and bringing a new recliner to our house!

Recent Pictures

Ready for the cold weather in her new hat.

Confused about why the exersaucer is in her way.  It is not an effective barrier.

After church on Sunday...with weird hair going on.

She stopped running away from me long enough for me to take a picture.

But only if I promised her she could chew on the camera case :-)

Thursday

I hosted the team Christmas Party last night, and it was so fun!  This group was much more fun than last year!  They ate a lot (thank goodness, because I literally worked for 8 hours preparing all the food and my feet were throbbing,) and got in to the Dirty Santa game.  The toilet paper was the hot gift of the night :-)  I was cracking up!  Comments like "ooh, you steal it from me, then he can steal it from you, then it still ends up at our house!" or " oh, and it's Charmin!"  and " I only got 2 rolls at the house and 1 is on the spinner, so I need that!"  had me rollin'.  [pun intended]

Langley acted a little puny all day, until the guys came in, then she was just eating up all the attention!

So thankful for a great team!  It was a fun night!  Now I have about 4 loads of dishes to wash...not counting the serving pieces that are handwash -- yuck!
