New (School) Year

It's New Year's Day here.  Our life revolves around an academic calendar, so WBC starts classes today and it might as well be Jan 1.

August is equal parts exciting and terrifying.  This year the weather has been awesomely in the 80's until the week of move in and then it remembered this is August and we've been in the 100 degree range for several days.

After 4 years of not working in student services and dealing with all things move in, it's still very strange for me to just be at the house when all the orientation and registration excitement is going on around me.

The girls have been good.  We've done well with Langley being at home instead of preschool.  It's definitely more of an effort to get out and find social interaction, but it's been nice.  She's started Awana again, and Aubrey will go this week.  Josh and I may go eat dinner while they are at church on Wednesdays.  Go ahead, judge us.

We are "helping" in college sunday school now (really just the token old people in there who will fill in when the Norvell's cant teach.)  Josh is still the FCA sponsor and I'm hosting a bible study for some FCA girls starting in a few weeks.  Langley starts dance after Labor Day, and we are going to have family breakfast each Friday morning.

After things gets rolling and we get past all the first days of registration, physicals, meetings, etc, we will find a groove and I think the year will be a good one.  We have 17 players.  That means 17 extra family members with all the needs and questions.

Over the summer we chose a family verse.  Colossians 1:17  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Happy Monday.  Cheers to 2014-15!

And if you haven't, go dump some water on your head and make a donation to the ALS charity of your choice so we can move on from this phenomenon and I can look at facebook without getting super annoyed.  Thanks.  Happy Monday. (We did it yesterday.)
