Some Firsts

Last week, we took Langley to a Volleyball game.  CBC was playing Hendrix @ Hendrix.  Langley has never done well in loud situations, but we have to try to get her use to it!  So, we take her, there is a good crowd, the game is close, and it is loud.  Of course she made the most pitiful face and cried, but we moved to the back row, I took her (Josh carried her in,) and just talked softly in her ear every time the crowd cheered.  After about 10 minutes, there was no more crying and she was beyond intrigued with her surroundings!  Success! She watched everything and everyone, played some with her favorite toy, and even ate her bottle for her 8 pm feeding!  We were so proud of her! 

Also, last week, I took her to the doctor alone for the first time.  It was the first time she had gone to the doctor for anything other than a routine check up and the first time Josh had not been with us.  I took her in because she had a very snotty nose and had not eaten or slept well in two days.  I figured there was nothing we could do or that she could take, but I wanted to make sure since we were going to be out of town all weekend.  I was not so impressed with the doctor, but at least it wasnt a complete waste of time as he went ahead and did her 6 month check-up.  [I asked them not to do shots that day since we were going to be out of town -- she'll get those this week :-(  ]  She weighed 17 lbs and 14 oz.  (75%,) is 27 1/4 inches long (90%,) and her head is 17 inches. (75%)  So, we survived all that just the two of us!   She still has a snotty nose, poor thing.

And finally, we took our first family getaway this weekend.  I'll post more on that later!
