Letters to the Girls

Dear Langley,

I am so proud of you!  You started preschool this week, and so far it has been a blessing.  You get excited when we pull up to your school and are ready to play.  Your class is finishing snack time when I come pick you up and I've been very impressed with your self control.  You are happy to see me and Aubrey, but you obey your teacher and don't get up until you are dismissed.  You are already learning so much.  I saw on your daily report yesterday that you practiced the ABC's with your class so I asked you about it and you started singing the perfect tune.  You have not napped at all at school but you are staying on your cot and minding your teachers.  I am excited that you have the opportunity to play and learn with your class, but you are still home with us most of the time for me to love on.  You are such a mess, funny, sweet, and STUBBORN.  I love you so much.  You are my beautiful, precious daughter and a great big sister.  You bring joy to most everyone you meet, and most certainly to my life every day.

I love you,
Mom

Dear Aubrey,

You are my sweet little thing!  You are 6 weeks old now and weigh 9lb, 4 oz.  I know your weight because we (actually daddy, because I had my own appoitnment at the same time!)  took you back to the doctor yesterday because we were convinced something was hurting or bothering you.  We were right, you have reflux.  I am so relieved to know what the issue is and we are helping you the best we can and praying your medicine kicks in fast!  When you feel good, you are just a little doll.  You are so cute, those big blue eyes just kill me!  I just want to kiss your cheeks all day!  As stubborn as your sister is, you are IMPATIENT.  I love you baby girl and can't wait until your are feeling 100%.  I have cried with you and prayed for your many hours.  I am so sorry it took this long to figure this out, but your symptoms kind of changed and gradually got worse as the weeks went on.  I will cherish the time we get a few days a week with just "us."  I love you and can't wait to see that first real smile on your precious face!

I love you,
Mom
